Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi created history and became the first bowler to bag a hat-trick in T10 cricket as Pakhatoons registered a comprehensive victory by 26 runs in the 2nd match of the inaugural T10 League. Afridi ripped through the Maratha Arabians batting line-up which was led by former Indian opener Virender Sehwag.

It was three exceptional deliveries of Shahid Afridi which brought back those days when the willy all-rounder used to rip through batting line-ups. Though he hasn’t been given due credit for his bowling his limited overs records suggest that he was one of their frontline bowlers. Afridi dismissed Rillie Rossouw, Dwayne Bravo, and Virender Sehwag in successive deliveries to bag his hat-trick.

Batting first Pakhtoons posted a substantial 122 runs on the board in their allotted 10 overs. It was Virender Sehwag who won the toss and elected to field first. His team fell short by 26 runs finishing on 96/7 at the end of their 10 overs. Afridi finished with 3/19 as the 2nd match of the inaugural T10 League went to Pakhtoons.

It was a short of length delivery which gave the wicket of Rossouw. The southpaw attempted to smack it out of the ground but only managed the toe end it straight to the deep fielder. Bravo was bamboozled with a faster wrong un which skidded along after pitching, It was an exceptional delivery and the batsman had no clue what so ever.

Virender Sehwag also fell to a similar sort of a delivery which got rid of Bravo. The ball was not as faster as Bravo but turned after pitching. It was struck plumb in front and after a few moments of hesitation, the umpire ruled it in favour of the bowling team. The former Pakistan skipper has given us many memories to cherish in the past and today’s achievement was a testimony to what sort of a player he has been for Pakistan.
