Shakib Al Hasan, accepts, he is serving one-year ban imposed by the global governing council for a silly mistake. Premier all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan failed to report approaches made by an Indian bookie and thus the council imposed a ban on him. With Shakib at the centre, Bangladesh have improvised drastically in the last few years and are no longer seen as underdogs in international cricket.

Shakib is the finest all-rounders to have donned the Bangladesh jersey. He has scored over 10000 international runs and excelled across formats with the ball as well.

Shakib Al Hasan: I took the approaches too casually

Shakib Al Hasan admitted that he took the approaches made by the bookies too casually. He, however said that, when he met the anti-corruption team and informed them, they already knew about everything. The all-rounder also said that he gave all the even gave evidence about everything and that is why his ban was cut short.

“I took the approaches too casually. When I met the anti-corruption guy and told them and they knew everything,” Shakib was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

“Gave them all the evidence and they knew everything that happened… To be honest, that’s the only reason I was banned for a year, otherwise, I’d have been banned for five or 10 years,” he added.

Hasan has picked up 210 Test wickets and 260 scalps in ODIs.
