Jasprit Bumrah once again looked at his imperious best on Thursday night as he produced a masterclass in fast bowling to not leave knock the stuffing out of the Delhi Capitals batting-unit but also leave his fans as well as pundits absolutely gobsmacked.
Bumrah announced his arrival with possibly the ‘ball of the tournament’ as he knocked over Shikhar Dhawan with a pacy inswinging yorker. Jasprit Bumrah was adjudged the ‘Player of the Match’ but as usual, for the champion pacer, his performances do not matter as long as his side keeps on winning.
“I am okay with not getting wickets and winning the tournament, I have been given a role so I just want to execute that role,” Bumrah said in the post-match presentation.
Apart from Jasprit Bumrah, Shane Bond heaped high praise on his compatriot, Trent Boult, who was instrumental in giving Mumbai Indians a great start as he knocked over the duo of Prithvi Shaw and Ajinkya Rahane in the first over.
“I’ve loved working with Trent since 2012. We’ve seen him at his very best and I was very excited to have him in our team. Because I know what a devastating bowler he can be and he has done that through this tournament for us,” Shane Bond added.
