Windies fast bowler Shannon Gabriel will represent Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) for the 2018 edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), to make a comeback since 2014.

Meanwhile, he will replace Junior Dala, who is no longer available due to international commitments. Dala is in the South African squad tour for a Test series against Sri Lanka.

TKR director, Venky Mysore seemed delighted to have Gabriel back. He also mentioned that they are looking forward to defending the title.

Shannon is a world-class bowler, and he has shown that in international cricket. It is great to have him joining the TKR family. We are really looking forward to getting our title defense underway on 8 August,” Venky said.

However, Gabriel was a part of the Windies squad that just concluded a three-Test series against Sri Lanka.

Seamer in the form of Gabriel claimed 20 wickets at 14.95 including 13 for 121 in St. Lucia Test. In the process of that record performance, he also bagged his 100th wicket in Tests.

The well-built seamer can bowl quick and is a match-winner on a given day. However, he lacks a bit of consistency which will keep the management worried.

The 30-year-old pacer Shannon Gabriel has played 35 T20s and has picked 29 wickets. The CPL begins on August eight and goes on until September 16.
