Former India skipper Santha Rangaswamy has stepped down from the Cricket Advisory Committee and the Indian Cricketers Association (ICA) in the wake of the conflict of interest notice served to her. Meanwhile, BCCI’s Ethics Officer DK Jain served a notice to Rangaswamy along with Kapil Dev and Anshuman Gaekwad.

Rangaswamy, a part of CAC, who re-appointed Ravi Shastri as India’s head coach for another term, resigned from her post in the early hours of Sunday. Shantha Rangaswamy emailed her resignation to the Committee of Administrators (CoA) and the Board’s CEO, Rahul Johri, stating that she no longer wishes to be part of the CAC.

Notably, Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) life member Sanjeev Gupta, who filed a Conflict of Interest complaint against Rahul Dravid, had also filed the complaint against the trio. As per the BCCI constitution, no individual can hold more than one post at the same time.

A top BCCI official said that Shantha Rangaswamy has wished to step down from her roles in the wake of the conflict of interest notice. The official also stated it is her personal call to discontinue her job.

“In her emails, she (Rangaswamy) has made it clear that she wants to step down from both the positions. It is absolutely her personal call,” a top BCCI official said.

BCCI had asked three of them to respond by October 10 over the Conflict of Interest charges labelled against them.
