Hardik Pandya once again showcased him immense allround potentials with yet another outstanding performance in the first One-Day International against Australia on Sunday (September 17) as India defeated the world champions to go one up in the five-match series.

Batting first, the hosts were staring down the barrel after Nathan Coulter-Nile’s initial burst reduced them to 11 for 3 before Marcus Stoinis’ two-wicket haul piled more misery on the Men in Blue, leaving them reeling at 87 for 5. However, the match turned in India’s favour once Pandya joined MS Dhoni in the middle  as the duo added 118 runs for the sixth wicket to lay the foundation for a respectable total. The partnership came to an end when Adam Zampa accounted for Pandya but before that the allrounder had slammed 83 off just 66 balls with the help of 5 fours and as many sixes.

Pandya was not done yet as he made his mark with the ball too, dismissing Steve Smith and Travis Head early as Virat Kohli & Co. restricted the visitors to 137 for 9 to seal the game by 26 runs (DLS method).

Meanwhile, Pandya has been garnering praise from all over for his brilliant performance and popular VJ and host, Shibani Dandekar has also lavished praise on the Indian star.

Dandekar took to Twitter to congratulate Pandya as she wrote:“@hardikpandya7 you are gangsta ??”

In reply, Pandya wrote:“Hahaa thank you shiiiiiii ?”

The conversation came to an end with the TV host giving Pandya a new name.
