Shikhar Dhawan Congratulates Delhi Teammates After They Thrash Bengal To Enter Ranji Trophy Final

India opener Shikhar Dhawan congratulated his Delhi teammates as the national capital stormed into the final of the Ranji Trophy after a decade.

Delhi entered the title-decider with a comprehensive win over Bengal, beating them by an innings and 26 runs to make their first Ranji Trophy final in ten years. The last time the team reached this stage was way back in 2007-08 season, and they ended as winners of that edition. The win was set up by some brilliant individual performances. If Kunal Chandela and Gautam Gambhir’s centuries had helped Delhi to take a crucial first innings lead, then Navdeep Saini’s hostile spell in the second innings sealed the memorable win.

After Mohammed Shami’s six-wicket haul in the first innings had given Bengal a glimmer of hope, Saini soon quashed it with one of the most hostile spells bowled in recent times. Saini finished with figures of 12-3-35-4 while Kulwant Khejroliya also picked up four as Bengal were folded up for a paltry 86.

Delighted with his state team’s clinical performance, Dhawan was quick to congratulate the players as he took to Twitter to post a congratulatory message and also wished the boys best of luck for the finals.
