Team India opener, Shikhar Dhawan has two new names for two vital cog in the team, Virat Kohli, and MS Dhoni as they leave for the tour to the UK.

Meanwhile, India departed on June 23 (Saturday) for an 81-day long tour to the UK. Skipper Kohli along with head coach Ravi Shastri seemed excited about the upcoming tour. The men in blues will play two T20Is against Ireland before shifting their attention to the Three Lions.

Furthermore, they will start their campaign against England on July 3 with three T20Is. India recently decided to play the shorter formats first to prepare for the Tests. They will also play three ODIs followed by five-match Test series.

The last tour to England under Dhoni’s leadership was disastrous for India. They suffered a 1-3 loss in the five-match Test series. However, Kohli is eager to change the statistics in the upcoming tour.

Our strategy will be the same as it was during the tour to South Africa and Sri Lanka. The mindset doesn’t change on the basis of one series. We have patience and the focus is on how to win matches,” Kohli said before leaving. “People can’t see the small things but we as a team know how we did. We are a team looking forward to travelling to other countries and perform. We are looking to change the trend of teams not being good travellers,” he added.

Dhawan reveals new names

Dhawan recently posted a song he sang for Dhoni and Kohli stating them as ‘Anmol Ratan’. He posted the video on Instagram as the squad left the country.

Mere do anmol ratan @mahi7781 @virat.kohli. Bak at its best like any other day, sorry for bad singing thgh,” the post read.
