Shikhar Dhawan Terms Dinesh Karthik as a 'Legend'

Team India started off their United Kingdom-bound tour with a convincing win over Ireland in the first of two matches Twenty20 International series on Wednesday (June 27) at The Village in Dublin.

However, their practice session ahead of the match was very entertaining. A video which was released by BCCI showed that how much the players were seen enjoying themselves during the training session.

In the latest footage, Dinesh Karthik could be seen as the presenter who is introducing Indian team during the net session being on a mic.

So much so, the entertainment quotient came in the forefront when Dhawan and Yuzvendra Chahal got into a friendly banter with the presenter. He is fondly called as DK by his teammates.

When Karthik was talking facing camera Dhawan interprets him. The southpaw jumps across him and pokes fun owing to typical gestures.

Meanwhile, Chahal also joins and in the background players laughing their heart out. It was later revealed by Karthik that Dhawan was spending a day away from the practice session. He is of the opinion that rest before the test is very important.

Dhawan in his own style stated he admires the way Karthik speaks and maintains in doing so. He also called him a ‘legend’ for his ability to speak so fluently in front of the camera.

The Men in Blue went straight to the nets after arriving in their hotel in Dublin. It was a football match and the team got divided into Mahendra Singh Dhoni and a Virat Kohli XI. It is learnt that Kohli’s side won the friendly clash by a 4-2 margin.

India won the opening T201 quite convincingly: 

Meanwhile, India won the opening T20I quite comprehensively by 76 runs. After batting first India posted a mammoth 208 on the board in their allotted 20 overs.

Openers Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma stitched together a mammoth 160 runs partnership before the dismissal of Dhawan. Rohit missed yet another century by a whisker.
