India opener Shikhar Dhawan has unveiled Team India’s new jersey ahead of the upcoming ODI series against Australia. The Men in Blue are scheduled to play three ODIs and as many T20Is against the host before both the teams will lock horns in the much-anticipated four-match Test series.

Shikhar Dhawan is a part of only the limited-overs sides. With his opening partner Rohit Sharma missing the series due to an injury, the onus will be on the southpaw to give India good starts in the forthcoming series. The left-handed batsman has been in stunning form.

He finished Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 as the second highest run-scorer. He smashed 618 runs including two tons to help Delhi Capitals make it to the IPL final for the very firs time. The 34-year old will be keen to perform in the same manner for Team India.

Shikhar Dhawan unveils the jersey:

A couple of days before the start of the ODI series, Shikhar Dhawan took to his social media platforms to post a picture of himself in the new Team India jersey.  The new jersey has a Navy Blue shade as the team has shifted from the conventional sky blue colour that it has been wearing in recent years.

The Navy Blue shirts also sports the name of the BCCI’s new kit sponsors – MPL Sports. MPL has replaced Nike in a three-year deal worth Rs 120 crores plus revenue share.

The upcoming series against Australia will be Dhawan’s first for Team India since January. He missed the tour of New Zealand earlier this year due to a shoulder injury. The star batsman was a part of the home ODI series against South Africa but it was postponed after the first game was washed out in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.
