Shoaib Akhtar Can't Keep Calm Ahead of Ice Cricket Tournament

The game of cricket will make its way to the picturesque snow-clad mountains of Switzerland in a two-day miraculous event on 8th and 9th February in St. Moritz.

The two sides – the Royals and the Badrutts will lock horns, and the games will feature some of the biggest names in the cricketing world.

The Royals will have the service of Shahid Afridi, Daniel Vettori and Shoaib Akhtar. While on the other hand, Badrutts will field the likes of Virender Sehwag, Lasith Malinga and Mike Hussey.

Former Pakistan speedster, Akhtar has put the fans in a dilemma, as he asked the Twitterati which side they would be rooting for. The fans are spoilt for choices, as both the teams would be filled with match-winners. One thing is guaranteed, and that is the action which will be on offer.

Vijay Singh, the CEO of VJ Sports spoke to the Indian Express and expressed his excitement,

“We are good to go to make history and are extremely eager to see all these amazing players take on the challenge and give their fans a lot to cheer about. The special viewpoint is, obviously, the 22 yards offering an approach to snow as opposed to the standard soil one,” he said.

Vijay believes that having ICC’s support is a huge boost for all the cricket lovers.

“With the approval from the International Cricket Council [ICC], the St. Moritz Ice Cricket Tournament has the potential to become a flagship property for the recognizing benefactors of the diversion everywhere throughout the globe,” he added.
