Of late, the rise of Afghanistan cricket has been quite a sensational narrative in the international cricketing arena. They have played some superb cricket in the last couple of years.  Interestingly, Siddarth Kaul has lavished praise on Mohammad Nabi for his remarkable performance.

Moreover, Afghanistan has been a fierce competitor especially in the shortest format of the game. Following their consistent performance in the limited-overs formats, Afghan team was awarded the Test status by ICC last year. They went on to play their debut Test against India around a month and a half ago. The story of Afghanistan cricket has some weight in it.

In a war-hit country, it has been a commendable job by their players to make themselves a force to reckon with.

Rashid Khan, the 19-year-old leg-spinner has been a pivotal member of this team. He has played a huge role in taking Afghanistan to a different level.

The rise of Afghanistan’s has been largely possible due to Nabi and Rashid in particular.

Rashid has bamboozled several top batsmen with his guile and variations. Even during the Indian Premier League (IPL), he was quite spectacular for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). He bowled them to the final of the tournament before losing to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the final of the tournament.

However, it has not only been Rashid who has made an impact on the Asian team.

Another stalwart in their ranks is none other than Nabi. His all-round abilities have played a vital role in Afghanistan going up the ranks. He has also been a part of the Hyderabad squad in the IPL.

Due to the rule of four overseas players, Nabi has not been able to find a permanent spot in the playing XI.

Very recently he got a promotion in the Latest ICC Rankings for an all-rounder. Courtesy the impressive showing he jumped to the second spot among all-rounders in ODI cricket. His Hyderabad teammate Kaul congratulated Nabi on his achievement. He hailed Afghanistan and the Afghan duo for their heroics.

Message to Afghanistan and Mohammad Nabi from Siddarth Kaul:

“Have always said and believed that there is no better story for cricket in the 21st century than the rise of Afghanistan cricket. @rashidkhan_19 bhai is one fine example and now @MohammadNabi007 bhai is ranked 2nd best ODI all-rounder. Congratulations brother. Rise and Shine,” Siddarth Kaul wrote on his Twitter handle.
