India’s young explosive women’s opener, Smriti Mandhana has opened up on her favourite innings that she has played for India in international cricket.
Although Smriti has scored a lot many centuries in the Indian colours, her favourite innings is not of a century she scored. Rather, she revealed that a gritty knock against England in Nagpur is what she feels her best knock to be.

Smriti has been one of the most prolific young talents India has come up with in recent times. Smriti grabbed all the headlines as she carried the Indian team on her shoulders — to the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup final in 2017.
Smriti Mandhana Reveals Her Favourite Knock Of All Time
Speaking to Cricbuzz in an interview, when asked about her favourite innings of herself, Smriti said, “I think I got some 80 runs in Nagpur against England. I know have scored centuries too but this knock was really special because I have a free-flowing game but that pitch didn’t allow me to play my natural game.”
“It was a turning pitch which was created for English batswomen but it had all been torn up while India were batting in the second innings and we were in a critical situation.”

“I was under immense stress as we were in a critical situation and I had to play a different role for the team. Although the target wasn’t huge, it always looked a steep chase because of the pitch.”
“I had to defend a lot of balls. Although I got out on 86, I won the game for the team. I received a standing ovation for my knock when I was dismissed. Even Jhulan Goswami came up to me and told me that this is your best knock till date.”
