Scared by some allegations, Mohammed Shami is not the happiest person currently. Last week, Shami’s wife, Hasin Jahan brought an array of accusations against the India pacer.
Jahan charged Shami with domestic violence and extra-marital affairs. In a series of claims made by her last week, Jahan also claimed Shami had fixed matches. She also filed a written complaint against Shami.
Kolkata Police has booked Shami under various non-bailable and bailable sections of the IPC; including Section 498A, which deals with cruelty to a woman by her husband or his relatives, Section 307 – attempt to murder, Section 323 – punishment for voluntarily causing hurt, Section 376 – rape, Section 506 – criminal intimidation, Section 328 and Section 34.
Apart from domestic violence on Shami and charges of rape, Jahan has alleged that Shami had taken money from a Pakistani woman named Alishba.
Meanwhile, Shami had dismissed all the allegations and urged for a thorough investigation into the allegations. He also said it is a conspiracy to ruin his career. Meanwhile, BCCI didn’t extend Shami’s central contract.
It is a personal matter says, Sourav Ganguly
Speaking to the media after Indian Premier League (IPL) GEC meeting, Ganguly deliberately avoided the topic. He also added there was no discussion the ongoing controversy related to Shami.
“I believe it was given to Neeraj Kumar for a week, so I am sure it will be sorted,” CAB President said. “I really don’t know what is the personal matter. It’s a personal thing, I don’t think I can comment on that,” Ganguly added.
Meanwhile, CoA chief Vinod Rai has asked BCCI ACU’s head Neeraj Kumar, to investigate the alleged match-fixing allegations against Shami. It is likely that ACU will submit their reports within a week.
However, this has left Shami’s participation in the Indian Premier League in jeopardy. Mohammed Shami was roped in by Delhi Daredevils for the upcoming edition.
