Sourav Ganguly, former Indian captain and the current BCCI President, engaged in a hilarious banter with former England coach Nasser Hussain on Twitter on Saturday.

20th June happens to be the 24th anniversary of Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid making their Test debut for India. And, to celebrate the grandiose occasion, Ganguly, who scored a brilliant 131 in his maiden innings at the Mecca of Cricket, Lord’s, took to his Twitter account to post some of his pictures of that historic day.

“Made my debut today .. life’s best moment,” tweeted Sourav Ganguly.

Nasser Hussain, who was Ganguly’s maiden Test wicket was quick to reply –

“No pictures of you bowling that week,” reacted Hussain.

Ganguly then replied back by saying “I always protect my dear friends.”

When Sourav Ganguly reminded Nasser Hussain of the 2002 Natwest Trophy

The banter did not end here. Ganguly then proceeded to post a photo of him and Nasser Hussain posing with the 2002 Natwest Trophy.

“Hi Nass .. when was this picture taken .. losing memory with old age …need my mates help,” tweeted Sourav Ganguly.

Hussain used a GIF to portray his emotions. Ganguly too posted a GIF which he captioned as

“Young Nass , already thinking about captaincy” Sourav Ganguly replied.

Hussain then proceeded to taunt Ganguly over his frequent late arrivals at the toss.

“Or just waiting for you at the toss again.” Hussain replied.

Ganguly and Nasser Hussain finally called it a day after wishing each other good health. Mohammad Kaif, however, joined the bandwagon, reminding Hussain of his famous ‘bus conductor’ jibe at the right-hander ahead of the Natwest Final.

Hi Nasser Hussain, I think you called someone a ‘bus driver.’ And in the end we all saw Dada’s 8-pack abs at the Lord’s balcony,” tweeted Kaif.

Recently Nasser Hussain had hailed Sourav Ganguly for kickstarting the revolution of Indian cricket. Hussain said that Ganguly transformed India into a feisty unit, someone who had the confidence to look in the eyes of their opposition and give them a real run for their money.
