Just a couple of days ago, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly insisted that there is ‘absolute clarity’ between MS Dhoni and the board. The former India skipper’s comment came as the cricketing world was busy speculating about the future of the veteran wicketkeeper-batsman. A lot has been said and heard about MS Dhoni in recent times but if there is one thing missing from the entire episode then it has to be clarity.

The former India skipper has not played a competitive game since the end of the World Cup in July. MSK Prasad, ex-chief of the selection panel, then made a huge statement by saying that the selectors are moving on from MS Dhoni and thus haven’t picked him in the team after the World Cup. Recently, Dhoni himself told the journalists not to ask him about his future until January.

Thus there is absolutely no denying that barring Dhoni and perhaps the BCCI president, no one really knows what the future holds for the wicketkeeper. Things can become clear only with in the coming days while Team India toil hard to find a replacement for Dhoni.

U-turn from Sourav Ganguly?

Barely two days after his ‘absolute clarity’ remark, Sourav Ganguly has made a comment on MS Dhoni’s future that has further complicated things. Ganguly ducked the question about Dhoni’s chances for next year’s T20 World Cup and made it clear that he is not the man to answer that question.

“Please ask Dhoni,” said Ganguly on Sunday when a journalist asked about the possibility of Dhoni featuring in the prestigious ICC event.

MS Dhoni, meanwhile, has missed the series against West Indies, South Africa and Bangladesh already. He is also not a part of the ODI and the T20I teams for the upcoming assignment against West Indies. With the way things have turned up in recent times, it would not be very surprising if Dhoni does not really get a recall soon.
