Sourav Ganguly Will Take The Final Call On Powerplayer Rule In IPL

Well, the last few hours is all about the Powerplayer rule, which made the headlines across the globe in the cricket fraternity. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has come up with a unique concept to introduce ”Power Player” Rule to the game of cricket. The Board is mulling to bring it to Indian Premier League in the next season. However, the final call will resist with Sourav Ganguly.

Speaking to IANS, a senior BCCI official said that the concept has already been approved, but will be discussed further in the IPL Governing Council meeting that will take place at the BCCI HQ in Mumbai on Tuesday.

Final call will rest with Sourav Ganguly – BCCI

The concept of players’ substitutions during an IPL match will be floated during Wednesday’s governing council meeting in Mumbai but the final call rests with BCCI president Sourav Ganguly. It has been learnt that a senior executive of the IPL operations team prepared a note a few months ago with an intention to do away with traditional playing XI.
