The hosts South Africa and the visitors England will take on each other in the first ODI of the 3-match ODI series at Boland Park (Paarl) on Sunday (6th December 2020). It will be a day contest.
The opening game of this series was originally scheduled on last Friday (4th December) at Cape Town, which was scheduled as a day/night contest. But due to one COVID-19 positive result among the South African players on that day, that encounter was postponed and rescheduled.
This three-match ODI series is the part of the inaugural ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League. In the inaugural ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League, it will be the third ODI series and first away ODI series for England but first ODI series experience for South Africa.
