Pakistan veteran batsman Mohammad Hafeez has joined St Kitts and Nevis Patriots for the upcoming season of the Carribean Premier League 2019. Hafeez will replace the Proteas batsman Rassie Van der Dussen who is unavailable due to national commitments. In fact, Hafeez had played for the franchise in the 2017 edition of the league.
Hafeez had scored 120 runs and had scalped seven wickets in the 2017 season of the league. Mohammad Hafeez has been a consistent performer for the Pakistan team across all the formats of the game. He has scored 1908 runs in the shortest format of the game. Furthermore, he has taken 54 wickets in the T20I version.
Hafeez will like to deliver the goods.
Hafeez was in decent form in the recently concluded World Cup as he finished with 253 runs in the tournament. Thus, he would aim to continue his good form going in the Carribean Premier League.
Robin Singh, the Patriots’ Director of Cricket said, “We are delighted to have someone with so much experience in T20 cricket joining our squad for the 2019 season. Hafeez is a fantastic player who has had experience of cricket all over the world. We are certain that he will be a huge success at this year’s event, and we are really looking forward to him joining us at our training camp ahead of the competition.”
Hafeez, on the other hand, noted, “I really enjoyed my time with the Patriots in 2017 and was very pleased to be asked to join them for the 2019 season. The CPL is a competition which has got better every single year and it is great to be involved again after a season off. The Patriots have a really strong squad this year and I am really looking forward to joining up with the rest of the boys.”
Subsequently, Mohammad Hafeez will like to deliver the goods for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. The franchise had finished as the second-best team in the 2017 season. St Kitts and Nevis Patriots will begin their CPL campaign against Trinbago Knight Riders on September 3.
