Whenever India travels overseas, the first fear always remains is of the bowling department. The bowlers and batsmen had led India down on occasions, and now its time to check out the performances of both in numbers in the overseas conditions.

Meanwhile, the Indian batsmen have always come good for the country with their nonchalant performances. However, the lack of solidity in bowling saw the wrong side of the things for the Indian Cricket team.

Surprisingly, the last couple of series saw the entire different Indian setup. The bowlers are doing a splendid job while the batsmen are letting down with their low scores often than not.

Batsmen let India down –

As far as the last two overseas Test series are concerned, Indian bowlers did an exceptional job in rattling the oppositions’ 20 wickets to set up Test for India by leaving the rest on batsmen.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umesh Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and Ishant Sharma bowled their heart out in South Africa to set up all the things in favour of India. But, none of the batsmen showed their skills thus letting India down.

The lanky fast bowler, Ishant Sharma bowled at his brutal best. He averages 23.3 in South Africa and in two Tests in England. However, his career average has been 35.1 which he reduced to as much as 12, which is an incredible turnaround for a fast bowler.

Meanwhile, among the other bowlers, Mohammed Shami bowled at 21.6 average from his career average of 29.1. The express fast bowler Umesh Yadav averaged 25.3 from 34.7. The reliable Bhuvneshwar Kumar achieved 20.3 from 26.1.

The newbie in the team Jasprit Bumrah has been exceptional who bowled at 25.2 and continuously delivered for the team. All those stats show how Indian bowlers transformed themselves by committing themselves to the team.

Apart from Virat Kohli, no Indian batsmen performed:

The batsmen couldn’t wholly be applied themselves for India in overseas. They notched up bulk scores on flat tracks but failed pretty badly when the seaming conditions arrived. Surprisingly, Rohit Sharma who has the second-best average got dropped from the team for the England Tests.

India skipper, Virat Kohli averaged 52.6 while second-placed Rohit has 19.5. The difference between them shows how Indians are overly dependent on the run-machine of India, Virat Kohli.

However, it would be interesting to see how things would pan out for the Indian batsmen in the coming three Tests against England.
