Stuart Broad Not A Certainty For The Second Test: Chris Silverwood

Stuart Broad, England Test bowler, is not a certainty for the second Test, coach Chris Silverwood said after the home sides’ four-wicket defeat at Rose Bowl.
Stuart Broad was left out of the opening Test of the summer as England opted to go with the raw pace of Mark Wood and Jofra Archer.
Broad gave an interview to host broadcaster Sky Sports during the match where he didn’t mince his words, making it perfectly clear that he was left disappointed and frustrated following the axe.
“Nothing is a given in this team, as we have seen, and people will be playing for their spots. Everything will be considered.” C<!---->h<!---->r<!---->i<!---->s<!----> <!---->S<!---->i<!---->l<!---->v<!---->e<!---->r<!---->w<!---->o<!---->o<!---->d told Associated Press.

Will Mark Wood make way for Stuart Broad at Old Trafford
England’s ploy of going in with the raw pace of Mark Wood and Jofra Archer backfired substantially as Wood claimed just two wickets in the game while Archer, barring the final day, did not really set the stage on fire.
With Wood picking just two wickets, he might be the fall guy in the second Test. England may also look to rest James Anderson, who has grappled with injuries in the past 12 months and might not risk him playing three back-to-back Test matches.
“We have one or two stiff bodies, as you can imagine,” Silverwood said. “I have been down to see the guys already but they all seem to have come through well,” he added.
“I mean, we will probably know more after training tomorrow. We will put them through their paces and see where they are,” Chris Silverwood said.
The second Test of the Wisden Trophy starts on Thursday [July 16] at Old Trafford in Manchester.
