Indian Premier League franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad have roped in former Australia wicketkeeper Brad Haddin as their assistant coach. The IPL outfit confirmed the news on their official Twitter account on Monday. Brad Haddin, who was a part of Australia’s 2015 World Cup winning squad, will be an assistant to Trevor Bayliss for the Hyderabad franchise.
Last month, the franchise had confirmed that Bayliss would replace long-serving Tom Moody as their head coach. Bayliss’ contract with England will come to an end after the ongoing Ashes. Bayliss had previously coached Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL and helped them win two titles. Bayliss and Brad Haddin know each other very well.
Bayliss was coach and Haddin the captain when Sydney Sixers won the Champions League in 2012. Like Bayliss, Haddin too has IPL experience with the Kolkata Knight Riders although they were associated with the franchise at different time. Haddin played for the team in 2011 while Bayliss coached the side between 2012 and 2015.

Haddin will replace incumbent assistant coach Simon Helmot who served in the position since the start of 2018. The ex-Australia international is not new to coaching. He had previously served as a fielding coach for the Australian cricket team. He was also in charge of the Australia A team post his international retirement in 2015.
Making the announcement on Twitter, SunRisers Hyderabad said, “We welcome Brad Haddin as the Assistant Coach of SunRisers Hyderabad”.

Sunrisers Hyderabad will be hoping that the new coach duo will continue their dominant perforamance in recent years. The franchise has made it to the playoffs in each of the last four seasons in addition to winning the league in 2016.
Meanwhile, Haddin represented Australia across formats before retiring in 2015. He played 66 Tests, 126 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and 34 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), scoring a total of 6,790 international runs.
