Suresh Raina Amongst The First Players To Leave For CSK'S Training Camp In Chennai

Suresh Raina, Deepak Chahar, and Piyush Chawla were amongst the first cricketers from the Chennai Super Kings’ ranks to leave from New Delhi for Chennai to attend the training camp ahead of IPL 2020.

The yellow army will participate in a six-day training camp, set to take place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium between the 15th and 20th of August. Suresh Raina took to his official Instagram handle, posting a picture of himself alongside Deepak Chahar, Piyush Chawla, Barinder, and other medical officials from the flight.

The 33-year old also thanked the airline for taking them, using all the COVID-19 protocols in place. Raina has been training at the Sports complex in Ghaziabad along with Rishabh Pant and Mohammed Shami for the upcoming season of the IPL in UAE from the 19th of September. The three-time champions lost to the Mumbai Indians by one run last year in Hyderabad.

MS Dhoni, the skipper of the Chennai Super Kings’ will also attend the training camp after testing negative for COVID-19. Bowling all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is one of the top-notch names to miss the camp while bowling coach Lakshmipathy Balaji will be the only one present amongst the coaching staff. Jadeja will reach Chennai to join his teammates on the flight to Dubai on the 21st of August.

The likes of head coach Stephen Fleming and assistant Michael Hussey are likely to team up with the squad in Dubai on the 22nd of August. Meanwhile, the South African recruits in Lungi Ngidi and Faf Du Plessis would land in the UAE after the 1st of September.

Imran Tahir will join the team after the Caribbean Premier League, scheduled to be held between the 18th of August from the 10th of September in Trinidad&Tobago.
