Suresh Raina Pours Wishes on the Newlyweds Virat and Anushka

Suresh Raina was one of the handfuls of cricketers who attended Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s wedding reception in New Delhi.

The newlyweds held the first of their two wedding receptions at the Taj Diplomatic Enclave in New Delhi on Thursday (December 21).

The couple will throw the second reception for the industry friends and cricketers in Mumbai on 26th December. But while the first function was reportedly organised for the couple’s relatives, there were some eminent cricketers among the guests too.

As many as three players were spotted at the reception and Raina was one of them. The other two were Gautam Gambhir and Shikhar Dhawan.

Following the reception, Raina took to Twitter to post a picture with his spouse alongside with the newlyweds and wished them.

“Heartiest congratulations @imVkohli & @AnushkaSharma!,” Raina wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Thursday (December 21) was a good day for the southpaw, as he finally cleared the Yo-Yo Test which is now mandatory for getting selected in the national team. Raina, who last played an ODI way back in October 2015, was recalled for the ODI series against New Zealand last year but did not play a single game due to illness.

He was then recalled in the T20 side for the series against England early this year, and he fully capitalised on it, finishing the three-match series as its third highest run-scorer with 104 runs. A few months later, he proved his worth with yet another impressive IPL season, scoring 442 runs in 14 matches which led to his inclusion in the standby list for the Champions Trophy.

However, he could not make it to the team after failing the Yo-Yo fitness Test.
