The reigning champions, Kerala Kings is aiming to defend the title and now have roped in former New Zealand skipper, Daniel Vettori as their head coach for the upcoming season.
Meanwhile, the concept of the 10-over league garnered a lot of response during its inaugural season. However, after its overwhelming response, they are likely to expand the league.
Vettori is one of the most sought-after coaches in the T20 circuit. He is currently at the helm for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League (BBL).
One of the best left-arm spinners of the all-time, he understands the game very well. It will be a welcome addition to the Kerala set-up, as they will be eager to retain the title.
Two new teams added
In a bid to expand the league, the organisers have added two new teams thus making it a total of eight. Prominent international players made their presence felt in the first season, played in December 2017.
Meanwhile, the organisers are in talks with various boards to take it beyond the UAE.
“We are in the initial stage of discussions with them [ECB], and we will be meeting with them in mid-March. The intention is to take T10 global. Working with a powerful board like the English one will be another feather in our cap. The format will be an independent league,” the chairman of the T10 League, Shaji Ul Mulk, had said at an event.
