Tabraiz Shamsi, who is plying his trade for Paarl Rocks in the Mzansi Super League has caught the attention of the cricket fraternity with unique celebration after taking a wicket in South Africa’s T20 tournament. The Chinaman bowler did a magic trick on the field when he took a wicket for Paarl Rocks.
In the video, which went viral on social media, Shamsi can be seen taking out a piece of cloth after taking a wicket. He then waves it and turns it into what looks like a ‘magic wand’ after completing his trick on the field.

I love doing magic – Tabraiz Shamsi
He took the cricketing world by storm with his magic-trick celebration in the Mzansi Super League match between Paarl Rocks and Durban Heat. Reacting to the celebration – that saw him convert a piece of cloth into a stick, Shamsi revealed that he always wanted to be a magician.
“I have always been fascinated by magic and different tricks,” Shamsi said on his little piece of trickery on the field: “From the age of about 15 or 16, I wanted to become a magician as it was a hobby of mine. It wasn’t just a phase, but something that really interested me as a small child. I still love it, but cricket obviously took over after that,” he said as per Times now.
Further, the spinner added that entertaining fans in the middle is one of his ways to get pressure off from his shoulders. He also explained that celebrations wouldn’t make any impact on the execution of his plans on the field and vouches to carry on the same.
“We are going to make mistakes out on the field because everybody makes mistakes. The celebrations and tricks do not distract me from doing my job. I am not the first bowler to get hit out of the park, and it is not my magic tricks that make me get hit. Entertaining on the field is just my way of taking the pressure off myself and being able to enjoy things. I feel like when I am myself, I am able to play my best cricket,” he added.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time Shamsi has grabbed headlines for his bizarre celebrations. In the T20I series against India earlier this year, Shamsi kicked up a storm when he celebrated the wicket of Shikhar Dhawan by removing one of his shoes and pretending to call someone by using it as a mobile phone.
