Tabraiz Shamsi’s celebration after dismissing Shikhar Dhawan in the third T20I between India and South Africa did not look too pretty. Both Tabraiz Shamsi and Dhawan were involved in an interesting duel early in the game. Dhawan took the upper hand at the start by hitting the South Africa spinner for two sixes in his first over.

But the left-arm spinner had the last laugh as he later dismissed the India star. Tabraiz Shamsi then added more salt to Dhawan’s wounds with his unusual celebration. As soon as Temba Bavuma caught the mistimed shot from Dhawan. the left-arm chinaman celebrated by removing his shoe and pretending to make a phone call with it.

Fortunately, Dhawan, who rarely loses his cool on the field, did not react to the celebration and walked off the field. Later, South Africa vice-captain, Rassie van der Dussen had revealed that the spinner pretends to call his hero, Imran Tahir after taking any crucial wicket.

Tabraiz Shamsi has now himself opened up on the famous celebration. The spinner, on Tuesday, took to Instagram to insist that he did not disrespect Dhawan with the celebration and it was all entertainment. He also added a funny side to his explanation, writing:

“No disrespect… only love, enjoyment and entertainment! ? Asked the big man why he didnt give me a warning atleast before smoking me out of the park 1st two balls lol ?”

Talking about the game, South Africa made light work of India to level the three-match series. The Proteas, who lost the second game by seven wickets, won the final game of the series by nine wickets. Batting first India managed only 134 for 9 in their stipulated 20 overs.
