Taipei T10 League: Pool 2 Qualifiers - Day Report, Scorecards, Match Result

The Pool 02 Qualifiers of the 2020 Taipei T10 League are done and dusted. PCCT United emerged as the best side among the three as they notched up comprehensive victories over ICCT Smashers and Chiayi Swingers.

ICCT Smashers vs Chiayi Swingers, Pool 02, Qualifier 01 Match Report

The first Qualifier of Pool 02 of the 2020 Taipei T10 League turned out to be a pretty one-sided encounter as Chiayi Swingers scripted a commanding five-wicket-win over ICCT Smashers.

Batting first, ICCT Smashers line-up never really got going as none of their batsmen barring Rajesh Mehta [17 off 13 balls] could notch up a double-digit score. Pruthvi More was the pick of the bowlers for the Chiayi Swingers as he finished with figures of 3-7 in his spell of 2 overs.

The likes of Yogesh Rajput [2-14], Jeevan Galdar [1-8], and Devesh Barshillia [1-8] played a brilliant supporting role to More as they claimed a total of five wickets between them.

Chasing 56 to win, the Chiayi Swingers got off to a solid start with Nitish Nair [18 off 19 balls] and Sidhesh Pilankar [16 off 15 balls] putting up a solid 38-run-stand for the opening wicket. But the dismissal of Pilankar caused a mini-collapse as Swingers lost five wickets within a space of three runs courtesy Neel Bhimani [3-10] and Nirav Shah [1-7]. But once again Pruthvi More [8*] came to Swingers rescue as he, along with Deepak Mishra [8*] steered their side to a five-wicket win.

PCCT United vs ICCT Smashers, Pool 02 Qualifier 02, Match Report

The second Qualifier of Pool 02 of the Taipei T10 League saw PCCT United pull-off a 44-run-victory over ICCT Smashers in what turned out to be a high-scoring encounter.

The win was spearheaded by the opening duo of Shahzad Khan Muhamma [27 off 14 balls] and Usman Javed [57 off 22 balls], who racked up a whirlwind 88-run-stand for the first wicket in a mere 5.3 overs.

PCCT United eventually finished with 6-132 in 10 overs. Devang Shah [2-10] was the pick of the bowlers for the Smashers.

Chasing 133, ICCT Smashers got off to a solid start with Rajesh Mehta [35] and Devang Shah [17] accumulating 40 runs in the first 4.4 overs. But the target proved to be a bit too much as they eventually ended 44 runs short of the total. Muhammad Mushtaq [2-9] was the pick of the bowlers for PCCT United.

PCCT United vs Chiayi Swingers, Pool 02 Qualifier 03, Match Report

The third and final qualifier of Pool 02 saw PCCT United pull off yet another comprehensive victory in another high-scoring encounter.

Batting first, Shahzad Khan Muhamma [34 off 22 balls] and Muhammad Amjad Zafar [23 off 15 balls] once again gave a brilliant start to PCCT United as they racked up 44 runs in 4.4 overs. The start was ably cashed-in by Usman Javed, who scored a whirlwind 30 off 17 deliveries, and along with Muhammad Mujahid [16* off 7 balls] took his side to 3-114 in 10 overs.

Chasing 115 to win, Chiayi Swingers never really got going as they lost wickets at regular intervals to eventually finish at 5-71 in 10 overs. Sidhesh Pilankar top-scored with 32 while the duo of Danish Mahmood [1-6] and Muhammad Mujahid [1-3] were the pick of the bowlers for PCCT United.
