Star Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal and his wife Ayesha Siddiqui have been blessed with a baby girl on November 19 (Tuesday). The cricketer took to social media platforms to inform his fans and followers revealing the name of his new girl – Alishba Iqbal Khan.

The veteran opener opted out of the Bangladesh side for their ongoing tour against India. The cricketer cited personal reasons and wanted to stay with his wife during this period which clashed with the series against the Men in Blues. Earlier reports emerged that Tamim Iqbal will skip the second Test in Kolkata to be with his wife who is likely to deliver then. However, now, the star batsman has decided to accompany his wife the entire week leading to the date of delivery.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh have felt the absence of Tamim Iqbal as the openers have failed to stand upto the task. They went from 1-0 up to lose the T20I series 1-2 with India winning the final two games of the series. The Test series also didn’t go as per their plan as the Bangla Tigers lost the match by an innings and 130 runs at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore.

The Mominul Haque-led side will hope to put out a better effort in the historic day-night Test at Eden Gardens in Kolkata starting from November 22 (Friday).
