Tammy Beaumont Smashes Sensational Century, England Women Post Highest Score in Women's T20I's

Tammy Beaumont smashed a sensational knock of 116 of just 52 deliveries to power the English Women’s team to the highest total in Women’s T20I cricket. The records come days after the men’s team registered the highest ODI score when they smashed the Aussies for 481 runs in the 3^rd ODI. Beaumont wast her scintillating best and smashed the listless Proteas bowlers all around the park. It was mayhem. Strokeplay looked utterly disdain until she was there at the crease.

She looked in an amazing touch all through the knock. Her 52 balls stay was included with 18 fours and 4 hits over the fence. Her opening partner Danielle Wyatt also scored an impressive 56 of 36 deliveries.

Katherine Brunt and Natalie Sciver provided the much needed late impetus to power them to 250. Brunt smashed 42 of just 16 deliveries which were studded with 3 fours and 3 sixes. Sciver on the other hand also looked in good touch and scored 33 of 15 deliveries which were studded with 3 fours and a couple of sixes.

The target of 251 was always going to be next to impossible for the Proteas. It was almost a foregone conclusion before they came out to bat. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals and was never in the game. Dane Van Niekerk looked good for a well composed 75 of 51 deliveries. However, it was never going to be enough given the target they were chasing. South Africa needed an innings like Beaumont which wasn’t quite there.

For Australia, Danielle Hazel and Katherine bragged a couple of wickets each. Meanwhile coming back to Beaumont it is indeed a special achievement from the English woman. It was a brilliant knock and the way she executed the shots was quite extraordinary. It was a brilliant knock to say the least. Courtesy the victory England are at the top of the points table with 2 points. Their net run rate is huge.
