The Complete Summary of the BCCI Awards 2018

A lot many cricketers received the awards during BCCI's award ceremony in Bengaluru.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Awards were held in Bengaluru. In fact, the entire Afghanistan squad was invited to be part of the prestigious awards ceremony.

Furthermore, former England skipper, Kevin Pietersen delivered the MAK Pataudi lecture. The ex English batsman became the first foreign player to get the honours of giving his speech.

Thus, the South African born player became the sixth player to deliver the MAK Pataudi lecture. Therefore, Pietersen joined the likes of Sunil Gavaskar, VVS Laxman, Rahul Dravid and Anil Kumble.

Consequently, Pietersen went on to speak on the importance of Test cricket in our game. Thus, he also gave his opinion on why and how we should try to keep alive the purest form of the game.

Furthermore, Indian board felicitated its players with the coveted awards. Indian captain Virat Kohli got honoured with Polly Umrigar Award for the fifth time.

Meanwhile, the women cricketers also made their name into the prestigious awards. Women T20I skipper Harmanpreet Kaur was given the Best Women International Cricketer for the 2016-17 season. The combative right-hander had played a blistering knock of unbeaten 171 against Australia in the semifinal of World Cup last year.

Furthermore, Indian southpaw batswoman, Smriti Mandhana was given Best Women International Cricketer for the 2017-18 season.

Meanwhile, India’s former coach, Anshuman Gaekwad received the Col. C.K Nayudu Lifetime Achievement award. Moreover, BCCI also acknowledged the efforts of domestic players.

Meanwhile, India is all set to lock horns with Afghanistan in latter’s debut Test match in Bengaluru on June 14.

Subsequently, It is a fairytale journey for the Afghan team, and they would like to take the best possible first step in the red ball form.
