The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) has taken a great initiative for women cricketers in the contemporary times.

Therefore, the association has always been at the helm to promote and develop the game of cricket. It includes both boys and girls at the City and District level for the last several years.

Moreover, the rise of women’s cricket in India has been tremendous. The performance of the women’s team in the 2017 Women’s World Cup has proved to be one of the major reasons.

Furthermore, TNCA has always taken new initiatives in order to aware the players and encourage them continuously. The players, in the long run, will reap the rewards.

The new initiative taken by TNCA is an exclusive tournament for the women fold. It has been planned in order to promote and give the girls further opportunities to make it big.

Interestingly, it will be a great platform for young budding women cricketers. They have planned to launch two separate tournaments. There will be a One day and Twenty20 tournament. It will be held later in the month.

The TNCA is proud of their association with Indian Bank. They have been associated with each other for more than a decade from now.

The women cricketers have been divided into six teams. The name of the distinct teams will be Yellow Challengers, Red Rangers, White Warriors, Blue Avengers, Green Invader, and Silver Strikers.

It will be a battle between these teams in ODI and T20 format. The tournament is slated to start from 15th June. It will eventually culminate on 30th June 2018 under the tutelage of TNCA.

Meanwhile, the tournament was inaugurated by Lakshimpathy Balaji, a former Indian pacer. He launched the tournament in the presence of Mr R Manimaran, General Manager of Indian Bank, Corporate Office and Mr A Ramu, GM of the Indian Zonal Bank and Ms Sudha Shah, who is a former Indian women’s cricketer.
