There was a little collapse in the middle. However, Anthony Das managed to score 28 off 21 balls.

A summary of the chase

While chasing, Super Gillies lost their first wicket on a team score of one. The things got worsened when they lost back to back wickets that dented their chase. They lost four quick wickets inside the powerplay at a score of 22 runs.

Murugan Ashwin tried his best to hold the ship of his team; however, it was too late then. Reality dawned on them soon enough, leaving the Super Gillies to be the only team to be bowled out twice this season in Tamil Nadu Premier League.

Who said what

“Bowlers got us back in the game, showed great character. Lost too many wickets in the powerplay. Everyone has to analyse what has to be done, what areas are going wrong.” – Gopinath, the losing skipper

“Good all-around performance. Could’ve got 10-15 more. 160 was par. Would’ve been a different thing if they didn’t lose so many wickets in the powerplay. Was a bit of a challenge but we did quite well.

Much easier to time with the newer ball. Their spinners bowled well. Our spinners bowled well too.” – Abhinav Mukund, the winning skipper.
