Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni was spotted during the toss of  Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL 2018) match, and the crowd went crazy over his presence in the stadium. Dhoni was present during the 26th match of the tournament between Lyca Kovai Kings and the Madurai Panthers.

The former Team India skipper is a huge name all across the globe and more so in South India. He might be a Jharkhand lad, but he has become 50 per cent Chennaiyin after his stint with the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise and defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ever since the inception of the cash-rich tournament.

MS Dhoni answers questions during TNPL toss:

Laxman Sivaramakrishnan conducted the toss, and he asked Dhoni a question in Tamil. The CSK skipper also replied wittily. Eppadi Iruka? Sivaramakrishnan asked Dhoni. However, responded “Nalla Irukku.”

“Every time I play IPL, I learn Tamil, and once the tournament ends, I have to start from scratch again. I will make sure that by next edition of such domestic premier league, I’ll learn a bit of Tamil” Dhoni said.

MS Dhoni is the captain of the successful CSK which won the 2018 edition. Dhoni looked in great touch and smashed a total of 459 runs during the tournament.

MS Dhoni fared quite poorly in England:

Given his form, everyone expected him to come handy in the limited-overs leg of the series against England. However, he was nowhere near his best and was criticised by all and sundry due to slow batting.

Well, former batting legend Sunil Gavaskar went as far as comparing 36 off 57 deliveries in the second One-day International at Lord’s with his infamous 36 not out during the World Cup in 1975.

MS Dhoni was impressive behind the stumps but was not able to leave up to the reputations as a batter. He looked totally out of sorts and never managed to play the big shots. So much so, his appearance during the fixture between Lyca Kovai Kings and Madurai Panthers lite the stadium.

More importantly, he never went for the kill in a situation where India still had chances of winning the match. It was baffling. However, Dhoni is a champion player and can bounce back at any stage. He has to sit back and clear his thought process especially given the fact that he will be a big player in the World Cup 2019.
