Tom Curran Calls Virat Kohli an Unbelievable Player

The ICC, on Tuesday, announced the schedule for the 2020 T20 World Cup. Meanwhile, England is slated to take on India, South Africa and Afghanistan in Group B. Tom Curran, the English all-rounder looked on taking on the India captain, Virat Kohli in the contest. When asked how he plans to get rid of the best batsman in the world at the moment, Tom said perhaps not on a no-ball. Furthermore, the youngster sang praises of Kohli too.

“Hopefully, not with a no-ball. We will see. He is an unbelievable player”

Excited to play in Australia – Tom

Australia will host the 2020 T20 World Cup, and Curran is all but excited to be a part of it. As the tournament will be played as a standalone event following the Women’s World T20, Curran remarked playing the T20Is in Australia is an unbelievable feeling. The fast bowler added the atmosphere created during the 2015 World Cup was the sign of things to come.

Not only this, Curran shared praises on the grounds Down Under. He said the Oz has some of the best cricketing grounds in the world and playing the Big Bash League helped him understand this.

“All the games are so exciting, the crowd will be phenomenal, and to be a part of it will be amazing. Playing T20s in Australia is unbelievable. We saw the excitement the 50-over World Cup (in 2015) created here,” he said.

“Australia have some of the most unbelievable stadiums in the world. To experience it properly in this Big Bash season has been amazing for me”

Meanwhile, the 2020 T20 World Cup is scheduled to start on October 18th to November 15th in Australia. India and England will face off at the MCG on November 1st.

Virat rested for the remainder of NZ series

After leading India to a historic ODI series win in New Zealand, the BCCI had decided to rest captain Kohli for the remainder of the tour. In his absence, Rohit Sharma will lead India in the two ODIs and three T20Is. However, the next match will take place on January 31st (Thursday) in Hamilton.
