New Zealand speedster Trent Boult, who bagged five wickets to steamroll Pakistan in the third One-day International to seal the five-match series 3-0 so far revealed he wants to see the white-ball swinging more on the home soil.

“I’d like to see the ball swinging a bit more,” Boult said in a post-match press-conference after delivering goods without the swing.

The 28-year-old left-arm fast-bowler Boult was awarded Man of the Match after routing Sarfraz Ahmed-led Pakistan by 183 runs in Dunedin on Saturday (January 13).

The prominent face of the New Zealand bowling department and new-ball partner of Tim Southee, as Boult feels the hard work is bound to play the crucial role while adding the change is must when the ball is not doing a bit.

“But I suppose the biggest learning curve as a fast bowler is making the change and being able to get wickets when the ball isn’t swinging,” Boult asserted.

The Rotorua-born Boult sent packing Pakistan openers in the form of Azhar Ali, Fakhar Zaman which was further followed by Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammed Amir before wrapping up Pakistan’s innings with Rumman Raees.

Interesting in December 2017, Boult registered his career best of seven for 34 against Jason Holder-led Windies in Christchurch while adding it was not that best performance.

“Yeah, not too bad,” Boult added.

Pertinently, with the splendid bowling spell, Boult completed his fourth five-wicket haul in the 50-over format owing to the windy conditions.

Boult made an interesting statement by saying he is still trying to rectify mistakes and learning on and has been aiming to deliver for his national team in the top-flight cricket.

“I feel like I’m still learning in that department, but it was nice to see a couple of edges carry through and to get the team off to a good start,” Boult further added.

Boult has ripped apart the batting line-up of Men in Green in Dunedin which saw the visitors were strangulated for 74 in 28 overs after reeling at 32 for eight in 18.1 overs.

“Everyone was up for it, everyone was fizzing and another great catch to add to the captain’s montage,” Boult conceded.

Interestingly, Boult has been in great form which further saw him collecting 18 wickets in the previous five ODIs.

Concluding, Boult asserted they are playing the decent cricket and the momentum has been with the team which stands the great prospect for the team.
