Twitter Erupts As Anil Kumble Attends Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma's Mumbai Reception

Newlyweds Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma held their second wedding reception on Tuesday (December 26) at St Regis’ Astor Ballroom in Mumbai’s Lower Parel.

The couple had hosted the first of their receptions in New Delhi last week for their relatives while the second one was for their colleagues from cricket and Bollywood. Not surprisingly, some of the biggest names from cricket and Bollywood were present at the venue to shower their love over the couple.  Among popular sports personalities seen at the reception were cricketers Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Sunil Gavaskar, Manish Pandey, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav, Ravichandran Ashwin, Cheteshwar Pujara and Jaydev Unadkat.

Some notable Bollywood stars who attended the function were Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Boman Irani, Aditya Roy Kapur, Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman and others.  But it is safe to say that the most notable guest of the evening was none other former India spin spearhead a head coach Anil Kumble.

Earlier this year in June, Kumble had stepped down from his post in a controversial manner. The bowling legend was enjoying a highly successful stint with the team before he dropped the bombshell a couple of days after the Champions Trophy in England. Kumble not only resigned from his post but also revealed that Virat Kohli’s reservations over his ‘style’ of coaching were the reason behind his decision. Rumours were rife that not everything was fine between Kohli and Kumble but nothing became clear as the India skipper never spoke publicly on the topic.

However, the presence of Kumble in Kohli’s wedding reception paints a different picture. But while only time will tell whether the two have buried the hatchet, the fans on Twitter could not stop themselves from expressing their thoughts after watching the Kumble-Kohli reunion.
