The Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper gave it his all against Kolkata Knight Riders but could not see his side win the game. Chris Lynn played an unbeaten gritty innings to take KKR to an important win.

Having won the toss and chose to field first, Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers were on mark. Their tight bowling has restricted free flowing Brendon McCullum and Quinton de Kock from scoring quick runs. The duo put on a decent 67 run opening stand in 8 overs.

But three quick dismissals in quick succession have not helped Bangalore’s cause to score at a higher rate. But Virat Kohli took the matter into his own hands. He got little support from Mandeep Singh. They managed to put in a quick 65 run partnership.

The skipper increased the scoring rate in the final overs which pushed Royal Challengers score to 175/4 in 20 overs. Asked to chase a par 176 on a Bangalore pitch, Kolkata openers Sunil Narine and Chris Lynn got them to a good start. Kolkata never looked in panic as Robin Uthappa played an innings with calculative risks.

However, Nitish Rana was injured with a stiff back and Andre Russell was dismissed on the subsequent ball. This created hope for Bangalore bowlers but Dinesh Karthik quick fire 23 run knock took the game completely away from RCB.
