Twitter Reacts As Shreyas Iyer Plays A Remarkable Knock In 2nd T20I vs Sri Lanka To Help India Seal The Series

Indian batsman Shreyas Iyer, while batting at no.3 played a remarkable knock in the second T20 International match of the three-match T20 International series against Sri Lanka National Cricket Team at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala on Saturday, February 26.

Shreyas Iyer has been given the opportunity to bat at no.3 in the absence of Virat Kohli, who has been rested for the series against Sri Lanka.

Iyer has been brilliant at no.3, as in the first match he smashed a 25-ball fifty at this position and in the second game he smashed a 30-ball fifty.

Shreyas Iyer came out to bat after Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was dismissed by pacer Dushmantha Chameera in the last ball of the first over.

Iyer had a big responsibility to provide stability to the Indian innings and he successfully managed to do that by having three good partnerships. He added good 35 runs with opener Ishan Kishan before the latter was dismissed by Lahiru Kumara in the first ball of the 6th over.

Then he added an outstanding 84 runs off 47 balls with wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson and unbeaten 58 runs with all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja to help India seal the series by winning the second T20I by 7 wickets.

Overall, Shreyas Iyer scored sensational 74 runs off 44 balls and his innings was filled with 6 fours and 4 maximums and he batted with an amazing strike rate of 168.18.
