Twitterverse was upset with the move by India National Cricket Team head coach Rahul Dravid to declare the innings when Ravindra Jadeja was closing in towards his maiden Test double century and India were at 574/8.
All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja batted exceptionally on Day 2 of the first Test match of the two-match Test series between Rohit Sharma-led India National Cricket Team and Dimuth Karunaratne-led Sri Lanka National Cricket Team at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali, Chandigarh.

The 33-year-old Jadeja was batting at 45* when Day 1 ended and he continued his batting brilliance on Day 2 and he completed the half-century milestone off 87 balls including 6 boundaries.
Also, Ravindra Jadeja completed his sensational century off 160 balls including 10 fours. This was Jadeja’s first century in Test cricket against the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team and overall his second in the purest format of the game. After scoring the century he looked unstoppable and the all-rounder kept smashing Sri Lankan bowlers and reached the 150-run landmark in style by smashing a terrific six.
He was batting 175* runs off 228 balls when skipper Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid decided to declare the innings, in the middle of the 130th over, which was bowled by Dhananjaya de Silva.
Also, Jadeja has become the first player batting at No.7 or below to be involved in three 100+ partnerships in an innings.
The spin-bowling all-rounder added 104 off 118 balls with wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, 130 runs off 174 balls with off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and unbeaten 103 runs off 94 balls with Mohammed Shami in which Shami’s contribution was just 20 runs.
