Twitter Reacts As Chennai Super Kings Thrash Sunrisers Hyderabad

Chennai Super Kings thrashed Sunrisers Hyderabad by six wickets to all but seal their playoff spot. The defending champions registered their eighth win of the season in 11 games and also returned to the top of the points table.
Asked to bat first, Sunrisers Hyderabad put up 175 for 3 in the allotted 20 overs with David Warner and Manish Pandey scoring fifties. Harbhajan Singh gave Chennai Super Kings a solid start by dismissing in-form Jonny Bairstow for a duck. However, Warner and Manish Pandey steadied the ship and added 115 runs for the second wicket. Harbhajan Singh broke the stand when he accounted for Warner for 57.
But Pandey made sure to stay till the end and guide Sunrisers to a challenging total. He and Vijay Shankar added 46 runs for the third wicket before the latter departed. Pandey, who was making a comeback to the playing eleven, remained unbeaten on 83. The knock came off just 49 deliveries and contained 7 fours and three sixes.
But the 175-run total turned out to be too less in the end as Shane Watson was in murderous mode. The Australian roared back to form when Chennai Super Kings needed him the most. Chennai Super Kings started poorly too and lost Faf du Plessis for just 1. However, Shane Watson and Suresh Raina added 77 runs to steady the ship and lay the foundation for the chase.

Watson and Ambati Rayudu then made sure that Sunrisers do not claw their way back into the game. The two shared 80 runs for the third wicket to all but seal the game. Bhuvneshwar Kumar ended the stand when he dismissed Raina for 96. Watson’s 96 came off just 53 deliveries and was studded with 9 fours and six sixes. There were some nervous moments towards the end but Super Kings crossed the finishing line with a ball remaining.
Here is how Twitter reacted to the match:
Come to think of it: CSK might win tonight without needing its talisman @msdhoni to bat! Watson has finally answered to his captain’s call #CSKvsSRH

It was Rashid who dared death stare Watson. It will be all SRH bowlers who will be at receiving end tonight. #IPL2019

Backed him to come good and he repays the faith. Chennai will be happy with both the deck and form shown by Watson. Getting in the groove at the right time.

After such a stupendous innings, Compulsive reviewer Watson didn't even review. Won the hearts! #IPL2019

Raina has swung momentum CSK’s way with some lusty hitting off Sandeep Sharma. Not all strokes were well-timed, but 22 runs in the over was just the boost his team needed

Supremely fit Manish Pandey. They say he routinely gets the best numbers in the yoyo test and you can see why. He has run flat out throughout this inning without barely breaking a sweat even as Warner seemed to struggle with fatigue after his 50.

Manish Pandey has emerged from the shadows today…
