Twitter Reacts As New Zealand Beat India In Thriller To Seal Series

Yet again the Indian National Cricket Team and New Zealand involved in a thriller at Auckland to put fans on edge of their seats. However, this time, it was Virat Kohli-led side, who ended up on the wrong side of things. Guptill, Ross Taylor and the debutant Kyle Jamieson were the top performers for New Zealand while Ravindra Jadeja and Navdeep Saini tried with all their heart out.
In reply to the chase, Prithvi Shaw started things in a flash by scoring three boundaries in the first over. However, he couldn’t continue in the middle, as New Zealand’s debutant Kyle Jamieson bowled a brilliant Inswinger to get rid of him. The other opener Mayank Agarwal failed yet again to make things tough for India.
Though Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer looked like balancing the ship, Tim Southee gave a perfect breakthrough by removing Virat Kohli after a solid setup. He was quickly followed by KL Rahul, who failed to read Colin de Grandhomme. The wicket of Kedar Jadhav further dented the visitors before Ravindra joining Shreyas Iyer in the middle.
They both played well by adding 33 runs before Shreyas Iyer playing a rash shot after his half-century. It was followed by the wicket of Shardul Thakur, who failed to defend Colin de Grandhomme. Just when things looked bleak, Navdeep Saini and Ravindra Jadeja added 79 runs for the 8th wicket to bring India back into the game.
The loss meant that New Zealand sealed the series with a game to go. It was the first loss for India after a fine time, as they have been pretty dominant in the past few months.
Earlier in the day, Martin Guptill and Henry Nicholls gave a brilliant start by adding 93 runs for the first wicket. Then came the breakthrough from Chahal when Nicholls was trapped in front of the wicket. The middle-order collapse meant that New Zealand is losing it again but Ross Taylor once again stood firm for the team.
Much like previous games, it was Ross Taylor once again, who saved New Zealand from further embarrassment. Taylor alongside Kyle Jamieson helped the Kiwis to reach a moderate total on the board.

Really feel for #Jadeja
Numerous occasions he's come so close to taking #TeamIndia over the line, only to fall in the last lap.

Can understand Jadeja trying to take it deep but he had to play the shots for India to win. Was a disappointing batting performance today.

Genuine joy around Navdeep Saini and the way he plays his cricket. Values every moment he’s out there for the team. Thinks deeply about his game – May it be a long healthy spell for Indian cricket. #IndvNZ

Saini giving himself better chances of cementing a spot by doing things he doesn't need to do at all.
Feels like a team led by Kohli, after all.

Excellent knock though Saini. It was always going to be a matter of a miss but excellent, gutsy batting effort.
