Twitter Reacts As New Zealand Bowls Out Pakistan For Just 74

Pakistan is the most unpredictable side in international cricket is now very well documented in the cricketing fraternity. One day they are outstanding, the very day they are miserable. Who can forget their fairytale run in last year’s Champions Trophy when they lifted the trophy despite being the lowest ranked side in the tournament and losing their first game by 124 runs.

It is now a known fact that Pakistan’s performances fluctuate between these two extremes. Well, Pakistan’s unpredictability was at its best in the recently-concluded third One-Day International against New Zealand. With the series on the line, the reigning Champions Trophy holders came up with a horrific batting performance as New Zealand won the game by 183 runs to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series.

Chasing 257, Pakistan were all out for just 74. The Men in Green were off to a disastrous start as half of their side was back in the hut with just 15 runs on the board. They were soon reduced to 16 for 6 and were in danger of breaking the lowest ODI total but the lower-order batsmen came to their rescue and saved them from embarrassment. They were reduced to 32 for 8, still, 3 runs short of the lowest-ever total before captain Sarfraz Ahmed forged some handy stands with the tail-enders to help his side post 74. None of their top-five batsmen managed to cross the double-digit mark while three batsmen even failed to open their accounts. Left-arm pacer Trent Boult was the destructor-in-chief taking 5 for 17 to fire his team to a big win.

Twitter, meanwhile, was quick to react to another unpredictable match from Pakistan. Here are some of the reactions:
