After two months of enthralling T20 action, 59 hard fought matches, the day of the Indian Premier League (IPL) finals arrived.

The contest was between comeback kings Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

MS Dhoni won the toss and backed his team???s ability to chase down the score, despite the reputation of SRH while defending scores.

After the mindless run out of Sreevats Goswami, usual suspects Kane Williamson and Shikhar Dhawan laid a solid partnership for the batsmen to come down the order.

Orange Cap holder Kane Williamson ensured that his headgear stays with him until the end of the tournament, as he registered yet another substantial score for his team.

The Kiwi scored a breezy 47, which consisted of five boundaries and a couple of sixes, to make for the slow start. He was ably supported by Shakib al Hasan who scored an important cameo of 23 runs, before giving his wicket away.

However, the stars for Sunrisers were Yusuf Pathan and Carlos Brathwaite, who propelled the Sunrisers to a score of 178.

Fast bowler Lungi Ngidi yet again was the pick of the bowlers, as he conceded only 26 runs in his four overs. With an economy of just 6.5, along with the wicket of Hooda.
