Twitter Tears Apart MS Dhoni After His Horrific Display Against England

MS Dhoni’s lack of intent and baffling approach with the bat continues to cost India dear. Despite being one of the best finishers the game has ever seen, the former India skipper just continues to hurt the team’s cause with his approach. On Sunday, MS Dhoni’s cautious approach cost India a chance to seal their spot in the semifinals of the World Cup 2019.
Hosts England bounced back in style from their back-to-back defeats to beat India by 31 runs. The game was looking set to end in a thrilling manner but once Hardik Pandya was sent back by Liam Plunkett, the game drifted away from India. One of the reasons for the same is MS Dhoni’s baffling approach. While the England pacers were definitely bowling well, MS Dhoni never really went for the big shots.
Instead he and Kedar Jadhav surprisingly relied on singles and never really went for the kill when India needed 71 runs from the last five overs. The two hit just three fours and a six during these five overs with one six and a four coming right in the final over. In the end, India finished on 306 for 5 to suffer their first loss of the competition. MS Dhoni remained unbeaten on 42 while Jadhav scored 12 from 13.

Earlier in the innings, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli had put India in a strong position. After seeing KL Rahul depart for a duck, the two bailed the team out of trouble by adding 138 runs for the second wicket. Liam Plunkett ended the knock by dismissing Kohli for 66. Rohit then went on to complete his century but failed to make it a big one.
The likes of Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant tried to play the big shots but perished while doing so before MS Dhoni and Jadhav joined hands. Twitter, meanwhile, was quick to slam MS Dhoni for his horrific approach.
Here are some of the reactions on his knock:
This is not the first time we’ve seen MS Dhoni play like this. And until someone doesn’t hold him accountable, it won’t be the last. #ENGvIND #CWC19

Can MS Dhoni come up and give the post-match presentation please? We all would like an explanation.
This is the first time I've been clueless about the lack of intent in a period of play.
