Two International Cricketers Under BCCI's Scanner For Match-Fixing Links

Two international cricketers involved in Karnataka Premier League (KPL) have come under the scanner of the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Anti-Corruption Unit. Meanwhile, this is the third revelations in two days after news broke out of alleged match-fixing in Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) and a woman cricketer being approached by two individuals.
The BCCI is also simultaneously probing the KPL. Like TNPL, some of the players brought it to the notice of the anti-corruption unit that corrupt practices were taking place in the league. According to reports, two players are being monitored in particular, for their alleged link with bookies.

While one of them has played for India in limited-overs internationals and is a regular in the IPL, the other has played for the country in all three formats. Even last year, the ICC’s Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) had probed two teams from KPL and it is believed to be ongoing.

Soon after the news of TNPL broke out, Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) have formed a three-member panel. The panel will file its independent report after their thorough investigation. Ajit Singh, the head of BCCI’s anti-corruption unit, is understood to have held meetings with TNPL officials over the past month.
