Two Uttar Pradesh Cricketers Announce Retirement, Wait For NOC From BCCI

Perhaps, the Board of Control for Cricket in India is going to face a new problem with the young cricketers. After Yuvraj Singh announcing his retirement from all formats of the game to play overseas, now,  a couple of youngsters from Uttar Pradesh call curtains on their career. In fact, they are waiting for the NOC letter from BCCI to start a new career in the same field.

The Two youngsters Prashant Gupta and Imtiaz Ahmed have written emails for the respective board to announce their retirements. They also made their plea to give them NOC letter, which would see them plying their trade in the shorter formats across the world.

Prashant Gupta wants to play overseas:

With a lot of T20 tournaments being played across the globe, the cricketers, who are finding it tough to break into the national teams, are plying their trade in franchise leagues. In the same manner, the couple of Uttar Pradesh players wants to play overseas.

It is learnt that Prashant Gupta and Imtiaz Ahmed has already got offers from various Clubs overseas to represent. The duo has started their career on the same day and ironically, set to leave on the very same day.

Meanwhile, Prashant Gupta, who played for Railways, was asked to reconsider his decision by the state board. With a good time left for him in his cricketing career, the board asked him to rethink on the decision. However, Prashant Gupta is clear in his thoughts to leave the association with BCCI.

Further, he doesn’t see himself playing for India in the near future which is the main reason for this call. Also, he doesn’t want the same routine to follow year after year. And also, Gupta revealed that he wishes to play overseas.

Well, it would be interesting to see how BCCI tackles the situation. If they give a green signal to the duo, they might see a lot of retirement mails heading their way.
