UAE Exchange Likely to Be New Sponsor of Asia Cup 2018

The UAE exchange is committed in accommodation to substitute Chinese mobile handset brand Micromax as an official sponsor of the Asian cricket competition. The negotiations are in view of title sponsor for the forthcoming tournament of Asia Cup 2018.

UAE Exchange, the United Arab Emirates finance company is in talks to close the deal for the tournament.

Besides these, foreign exchange and bill payment solutions are busy in recompense state. The deal is conventional to touch the mark of 22 crores rupees, or figures around that.

The approaching Asia Cup will be of ODI format. The 50-over One-Day International tournament will ensue in Dubai and Abu Dhabi from September 15 to 28.

Two years ago, Micromax had shelled out 13 to 14 crore rupees. However, the 2016 Asia Cup enacted in the Twenty20 format of the game. There were eleven matches in the tournament.

The Asia Cup 2018 will occupy more two games than the previous one due to the establishment of Super Four format.

Besides this, it will bemuse more airtime for the 50-over format.

“Considering Indian Premier League’s ratings on Star Sports, a ₹2 crore for a match is an entirely realistic value for the Asia Cup title. Let us not forget there are likely to be at least two, or possibly 3, India-Pakistan games, which will invoke a tremendous response in the two countries,” the statement read.

 

“For a multinational brand with its operations in India and Pakistan, this Asia Cup is a great marketing opportunity,” the statement added.

India and Pakistan to meet each other on 19 September:

India is all set to meet its arch-rivals Pakistan on 19th September in Dubai International Cricket Stadium.  It will be the first meeting between the two teams since the finale of ICC Champions Trophy 2017.
