Unsettled Batting Position for Rahane not Helping Him - Anshuman Gaekwad

Former Indian coach and selector of Indian cricket, Anshuman Gaekwad is of the opinion the changes in the batting order for Ajinkya Rahane across all problems are one of the major reason behind his dilemma and not scoring runs consistently in the recent past.
The vice-captain of India in Tests, Rahane just managed to score 84 runs in the last eight innings. Currently, he also finds himself out of the limited-overs sides.
Rahane also finds it difficult to retain his place in Test side for the tour of England. KL Rahul has been batting pretty well in the recent past and might go on to replace Rahane in the Test series.
However, there is no denying the fact that Rahane had scored a lot of runs in overseas conditions. His knock at the Lord’s when India toured England last time remains one of the greatest knocks by an Indian batsman in the offshore conditions.

“I don’t think it’s Ajinkya’s fault. Sometimes, he opens the innings, at times he comes in at No. 3, 4 or 5. No batsman likes such shuffling whether it is in one-day cricket, T20 internationals or Tests. It can unsettle him, and ultimately he loses his confidence,” Gaekwad was quoted as saying to the mid-day.
He was present at the Ramesh Rajde scholarships functions at the MIG Cricket Club yesterday.
Rajde was a close friend of Gaekwad who passed away due to a heart attack in 2005. Rahane was the first beneficiary of his scholarship. It was yesterday that Gaekwad shared the stage with Madhav Apte and former World Cup winning member, Balvinder Singh Sadhu.
India’s tour of England
India will tour England for a three-match ODI, T20I and a five-match Test series. It will is a big opportunity for India to learn from their mistakes from the last couple of tours and come back stronger.
They have some great players in their ranks and have a great opportunity to win all the series in England.
