The IPL 2022 mega auction is just around the corner and it seems the banter between the players has begun already. In a video shared on social media, KL Rahul, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Shardul Thakur were seen having some fun dialogue between themselves when the topic of the budget came up.

KL Rahul has already been revealed as the captain of the Lucknow Super Giants franchise, one of the two new teams which will be seen in IPL 2022, the other being the Ahmedabad-based team which will be captained by Hardik Pandya.

Shardul Thakur and Yuzvendra Chahal, who was seen in the video with Rahul, were not retained by their respective franchise Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore and will enter the IPL 2022 auction in hopes of being picked by a new team or even by their old franchises.

In the same jest, in a video shared on social media site Instagram, Yuzvendra Chahal gave an epic reply to Shardul Thakur, who was hoping to entice Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul into bidding for him. Shardul asked Rahul if his team had any budget for him in the IPL 2022 auction.

However, Rahul jokingly said that they will only get him if he comes at his base price. To this, Yuzvendra Chahal gives an epic reply, saying that ‘Bhagwan ke liye budget nahi hota bro’, which translates into there is no budget for god.

This was a take on Shardul Thakur’s nickname in the Indian team, ‘Lord Shardul’. The all-rounder recently showed why he will be a huge catch for the franchises in the IPL 2022 auction, as he stroked a 40 and a half-century in the two ODIs he played against South Africa and has already impressed one and all with his bowling abilities.

The hilarious conversation was apparently recorded by Indian batter Shreyas Iyer, who recently returned to the white-ball squad of the Rahul-led side during India’s tour of South Africa. Indian opener Rahul captained the Indian team in the recently concluded white-ball series between India and hosts South Africa.

The IPL 2022 mega auction is set to take place in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13. Team India will play three-match ODI series with the West Indies before the mega auction.
